Custom fields come in 16 different types that you can choose from. Here you choose the type that best suits the information you want to note or highlight. You can use custom fields on customer cards, events, tasks, sales, orders, people and time reports.

Text fields

Text fields are a type of custom field where you can write a short comment and is useful where short extra information is required.

Text box

Text box is used when you have a longer note you want to write. If you select Text box, you can write as long a note as you want, there are no character limits. In a text box, you can also use line breaks if you want to split up the information, which is not possible if you select Text box.

Numbers

If you want to enter a number, select this type of custom field. Note that if you select Number, you will not be able to enter any text at all. We recommend using this if you are sure that the information is only numbers. If it can be both numbers and text, we recommend using Text field.

Currency

This custom field will give you the currency rather than the number you are entering. This is nice to use if you want to distinguish between a number and a price. The custom field "Currency" is linked to the default currency you use in the system. For example, if your default currency is NOK, the custom field for currency will automatically become NOK when it is created.

Checkbox

Checkboxes allow you to enter quick information that you can check off. This can be useful if you want to record answers to simple yes/no questions. An example of this could be: "Is the customer invoiced?". An empty box means that the customer is not invoiced and a checked box means invoiced.

Values and multiple values

With the Values and More values fields, you can create a drop-down menu where you can select one or more of the options. Here you can pre-define options for users to choose from. You can create as many options as you want in both fields. If you select the Value field, you can only select one of the options, as you can see in the example in the first image. If you select the Multiple values field, you can select multiple options.

Date range

Date and Date range can be used to record an important date or date range. You may want to use Date in contracts if you want to specify a specific date. The same applies to date ranges. Date ranges can also be used on customer cards, for example, if a campaign or collaboration has been agreed for a selected period of time that you want to highlight.

Single and multiple users

With the User and Multiple users fields, you can create a drop-down menu where you can select one or more of the users in the system. These fields can be useful, for example, if you want to add an extra user to an activity that should not be listed as a host. For example, use the User field to document who in the sales department has booked a meeting. This gives us a simple overview of each user's statistics.

Customer and multiple customers

Create a drop-down menu where you can select one or more of the customers registered in your system. Customers and More customers can be used if you want to add one or more of your registered customers in your system to an activity.

Person and multiple persons

Create a drop-down menu where you can select one or more of your customers' contact persons registered in your system. The custom fields Person and More people can be used, for example, if you want to add one or more of your customers' contact persons to a task.
